Drupal 7 and 8/9 Developer(s) Needed at Upwork

Role requiring ‘No experience data provided’
months of experience in None

This will be a partnership between my company and 1 to 3 other developers. Preference to WI based Drupal developers. You will be working from home. And if hired as an employee, you would be working from home for at least the first year.

The Bev List Corporation is looking for assistance with the buildout and completion of a large web application that is both a consumer application and social media platform. We are a startup that is in the process of obtaining seed capital and launching. This means that this could lead to other opportunities as we plan on offering equity to our hired employees. However, for buildout, we will be contracting. But we hope to build a relationship with someone (or a couple of people) we can hire in the very near future; people with the skillset to advance our app and company. As a Drupal developer myself, I’m looking for people better than me at coding. I’m a business guy. I’ll handle logistics and help with coding. Therefore, in an employee, I’m looking for at least one person with team management abilities. But please feel free to reach out if you are a firm with a good track record, as we are open to that as long as I am allowed to assist in buildout.

Our site is currently in Drupal 7. We are not going to upgrade until after launch (unless you are REALLY good). But we need people who understand the intricacies of migrating from Drupal 7 to 8/9. Aside from Rules, most modules are migrate to 9 or have an equivalent. The reason we have not moved to Drupal 9 is because Rules is used on our app. I just don’t have the time to REALLY dive in to setting up the workflow I need in Drupal 9. That being said, strong PHP coding skills and React experience would be welcomed.

The app is currently a web app in Alpha phase, with about 35 pages. The release will be a perpetual Beta release and there’s 105 pages in the site map. We want it as Android, iOS, and a web app. Every part of the app has been built in earlier prototypes. An advanced User Wall and Feed that can compete with other microblog formats was what I felt was the most difficult part and it is done. Now to put things back together better!

We are looking for a Fall 2022 launch. I need someone who can work fast at green light, follow directions, AND be able to speak up if you think something can be done better without slowing progress down. Because the app is steeped in Wisconsin culture, I prefer to work with people that have ties to or live close to Badger country. Madison, or Milwaukee preferably. But I will take you from anywhere in the United States. The development budget is around $30,000 and I’d like to be a set of hands in the process to keep costs at or under that. Plus, I look forward to learning from you.

•Willingness to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement.

• Experience in building and maintaining a large web application that is also a backend for native apps.

• Experience building native apps in the Drupal framework with Cordova.

• Experience in setting up a Drupal 7/8/9 collaborative work environment (GIT or something like that) with scheduled updates.

• At least 5-years of experience with Drupal 7 and 2-years with 8/9.

• Knowledge of Drupal best practices.

• Advanced knowledge of database administration in a Google Cloud environment.

• LAMP stack with CentOS skills.

• A portfolio of work.

• You MUST absolutely be a good communicator.

• You MUST be a “can-do” person and deliver.

• Full-stack developer

• Plesk control panel preferred. But I can go back to CPanel as long as you set up the environment

• Successfully researching and remediating IT security vulnerabilities in a social media environment

• Government regulations pertaining to websites

• Some knowledge of Government and industry regulations pertaining to alcohol

• Mobilefirst / responsive application design

• Node.js integration experience

• Somewhat active in the Drupal Community.

• Graphic design skills.

• Prior management experience.

• At least an Associate’s degree.

• Be a “little” money motivated.

• A taste for good alcohol.
