We are seeking a WordPress Developer, an IT professional, to work as a technology partner with our internal customers. This role will have the opportunity to use existing skills while also learning emerging technologies as they are introduced and evaluated throughout the organization. This role has the option to be fully remote.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Create attractive, user-friendly, and fully functional WordPress websites based on business requirements and design specs
• Front-end and back-end development, including the implementation of themes and plugins
• Develop system test criteria and participate in systems testing
• Development tasks will include adding functionality to existing sites as well as developing new applications & sites
• Become part of a new internal/external team that is working with RPA through the Microsoft Power Platform and UiPath

Experience, Skills, and Abilities Required:
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent
• Strong WordPress/PHP knowledge
• CSS/HTML5
• JavaScript/jQuery
• Familiarity with UI/UX layout principles and general responsiveness
• A team player with the ability to work directly with the business leaders, developers, and other designers in a fast-paced deadline-oriented environment
• Strong communication skills and an intense drive to learn new things

Senior M&A Analyst, Corporate Development at Automattic

We are seeking a talented finance and due diligence expert to play a principal role on the many transactions (mergers & acquisitions, investments) that we do at Automattic. You will lead the diligence and reporting process for our investments and acquisitions, focusing on uncovering crucial information about our target businesses that could impact the terms of our deals.

We’re looking for someone who can help us deeply understand the value of a target business, provide a true analysis of financial statements and dig into what is really behind the numbers, and communicate the issues that they discover in plain terms to a variety of stakeholders. This role is ideal for someone who loves to own and manage complex projects, has a keen eye for detail, and thrives on sensible, practical solutions.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for:
• Leading diligence on our acquisitions and investments, including review and reconstruction of financial statements to identify inaccuracies, helping to ensure that company performance complies with the terms of their contractual commitments, analyzing future growth prospects of our targets, reviewing existing contracts to gauge the accuracy of stated revenue and expenses, and researching the target company’s background.
• Analyzing reports and less structured data from our investment portfolio companies to help to identify issues such as: misstatements in the financial statements, management and executive inefficiencies, business deficiencies in comparison to competitors or industry norms, inaccurate or unrealistic budgets and forecasts, unrecorded liabilities and/or overstated assets.
• Working with our tax and accounting functions to manage the integration of our acquired companies, update the tax structure of acquired companies and make recommendations on compliance and tax-saving strategies, and identify departures from customary business practices or professional standards.

Everything at Automattic is done on a global scale and in an international context, and you will frequently be managing projects in non-US jurisdictions.

We’d love to hear from you if you:
• Are a CPA or ACA qualified accountant and/or have 5+ years of experience performing a similar role.
• Have foundational experience working on the transaction services team or audit group in the Big 4 accounting firms or a high-quality accounting boutique OR you’ve worked in a fast-growing software or internet startup, a technology-focused public company, or an investment fund.
• Work well in the context of a fast paced, transaction driven environment; for example, you have experience running a diligence process and have worked on closing corporate financings, investments, or M&A transactions.
• Have exceptional interpersonal skills, including outstanding verbal and written skills in English.

Bonus points if you:
• Have substantial experience in forensic accounting.
• Possess an agile and curious mind. You’re not afraid to ask questions or admit when you are wrong.
• Have a healthy sense of humor, and an abiding spirit of idealism about your chosen profession.
• Are extremely detail-oriented, and are adept at spotting inconsistencies and ferreting out anomalies.
• Have a passion for elegant, simple, automated solutions that keep operations running smoothly, and an ability to see opportunities for process improvement and the initiative to move forward with action.
• Prefer operating very independently, and are highly motivated to learn new things and improve your skills, and enjoy juggling an array of tasks.
• Are collaborative, and enjoy working with teams across Automattic, ranging from Business and Product teams, to our operations functions (HR, Legal, Accounting, and Finance).
• Excel at understanding complex topics and explaining them to others in clear, concise terms.
• Have experience working on a distributed team, WordPress, software development, coding, or open source.
