As a Senior Engineer at Kanopi Studios, you are instrumental in delivering outstanding digital experiences to our clients. This role is varied and can include anything from deeply technical custom integrations to strategic improvements on existing sites. Your day-to-day includes spending your time hands-on developing and collaborating on sites while staying accountable to schedules, estimates, project requirements, and high standards of quality.

Your typical work week might include:

+ Understanding the business goals and needs of your clients for sites you support.

+ Making smart technical design decisions and tradeoffs that consider your clients’ business requirements.

+ Expertly crafting custom front- or back-end solutions in Drupal

+ End-to-end responsibilities for engineering work on complex projects.

+ Contributing to our common code libraries.

+ Writing tests and contributing to test cases.

+ Technical planning and execution of new features on existing sites.

+ Building against an established suite of user stories for large-scale projects.

+ Proactively identifying issues and technical limitations and communicating clearly across agency functional areas.

+ Clearly document code and processes to communicate your technical decisions.

+ Mentoring new and developing engineers.


This is a full-time position. The salary range for this position is $86,000-$122,200 – the range is broad, but it is commensurate with experience, aligned with current members of our team with similar experience, and may shift a bit depending on your geographic location. This is a 100% remote role, but you must live and be able to work in the US or Canada.



We are looking for candidates who…

+ Have 5+ years of related Drupal experience.

+ Have worked in an agency environment, preferably in multiple time zones.

+ Demonstrate knowledge of industry trends.

+ Show strong problem solving abilities, intelligence, and initiative.

+ Strong debugging skills.

+ Demonstrate knowledge of modern development workflows, including use of the command line, gitflow, containers, and dev/stage/prod environments.

+ Deeply understand modern web standards and technologies.

+ Exhibit thoughtful, inclusive, and articulate communication skills, both in writing and in person.

+ Have a BS or MS in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.

+ Have some or Vue experience (this would be an awesome plus).

As a Technical Lead – Drupal, you will lead large-scale Open implementations, utilizing Drupal and other platform tools, providing both oversight and hands on contributions to the software design, development and integration process. Work with delivery stakeholder and support pre-sales team as needed.

• The ideal candidate must be able to work both independently and as a lead to help mentor / train other application developers so that over time they improve their knowledge with the Drupal platform
• Can single-handedly manage Proof-of-concepts or complex modules, develop client roadmaps and solutions.
• Translate functional requirements from business users into sound technical / application designs that meet business objectives
• Proactively offer solutions to complex technical problems while developing Custom modules and Extending Magento modules in addition to custom theme development to meet needs
• Participates in the development of implementation schedules, system implementation planning and execution
• Work closely with Project Managers and developers to manage the project and ensure smooth execution
• Peer and off-line code reviews.
• Develops code that meets business /user requirements, IS quality standards and secure web development guidelines
• Develops and conducts system/unit test plans including user acceptance test planning and execution
• Hands-on development, coding as needed with the team.
• Meets project objectives within specified time frame parameters and defined requirements
• Help Drupal Practice in practice initiatives and products.
• Support pre-sales team and work on Business proposals and project estimates.
• Responsible for various aspects of ongoing support and maintenance engagements.

• 6+ years of experience as a Drupal Developer/Lead/Architect.
• Experienced in providing solutions and technical architecture for medium to Large websites using Drupal 7/8/9 Platform
• Expertise in building scalable & reliable systems
• Architect & Document the system design and solution.
• Expertise on LAMP stack.
• Hands-on experience on Drupal Multisite, Multi-lingual, REST APIs, Caching Mechanism, Forms API, JavaScript API including all common APIs provided by Drupal 8.
• Good experience with DevOps using AWS and ACQUIA environment.
• Help Team to foresee technical risks and come up with Mitigation plan.
• Identify the training needs in practice area and participate in trainings
• Good experience with performance tuning.
• Expertise in microservice / Data modelling / AWS / Messaging
• Good knowledge of caching, Databases, distributed systems.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent Theming skills using HTML, CSS3, JavaScript & jQuery.
