Organisational Overview

Australian Registry Investments is the operator of New South Wales Land Registry Services (NSW LRS), which maintains a secure, efficient and guaranteed system of land ownership for New South Wales (NSW). The land title registry defines the legal ownership and boundaries of land parcels throughout the State, both private and public and records changes as they occur.

From property buying and selling to financing, the land title registry underpins billions of dollars of economic activity in NSW each year. New technologies such as online service delivery is being progressively introduced to streamline processing of plans and dealings and provide maximum confidence in the system.

The Information, Communication & Technology unit within NSW LRS provides design, development, maintenance and support services to the core systems that underpin land transactions within New South Wales.

Reporting to the Head of Applications the Front End Developer role contributes to the development, maintenance and support of NSW LRS web-based systems. This includes the Internet/Intranet websites and new portal solutions being implemented as part of a digital transformation project. Some of your key responsibilities will include:
• Ensure the delivery of updates and extensions of multiple CMS-based websites.
• Ensure all development activities adhere to the NSW LRS Coding Standards and Software Development Life Cycle methodology.
• Prepare system specifications and carry out system testing in accordance with test strategies.
• Assisting other developers and team members with technical insight and expertise.
• Design new features and iteratively improve current features.
• Contribute technical expertise to requirements analysis to enhance the quality of the solution design.
• Provide application support and problem resolution to minimise the impact of application related service outages.
• When required, support application release planning, and coordinate the work of other developers.
• Ensure that documentation is established and maintained for all developed software and systems.
• Maintain working knowledge of the company’s software development policies and procedures plus current software development methodologies.
• Acquire and maintain a working knowledge of security related technologies, security vulnerabilities, and secure programming techniques.

Experience in:
• Strong analytic and problem-solving skills.
• Extensive experience with the Kentico CMS.
• C# programming experience.
• Web-based technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS).
• Experience in DevOps environments.
• Write clean, maintainable and efficient code.
• Experience with continuous build and test systems.
• Good knowledge of relational databases, particularly MS SQL Server.
• Experience with version control software (Subversion/BitBucket).
• Ability to quickly learn and work with new technologies and tools.
• Ability to operate confidently and constructively with peers, technical management and customers.
• Perform with minimal supervision of routine duties.
